The Newton ROV Gripper is an optional add-on to the Blueye X3 and X1 underwater drones which enhances the ROVs capability to retrieve objects, attach recovery lines, or free a snagged tether. With the new custom made Quick Connect solution you can now easily remove and attach the Newton gripper, without having to disconnect from the Guest Port.

The Newton Subsea ROV Gripper is a single-function manipulator for the Blueye X3 underwater drone. The gripper has jaws driven by a linear actuator which can open to grab objects up to 2.44″ or 6.2cm in diameter, and submerge down to 300 m. The Newton gripper is a great alternative for operators wanting a more affordable, but still robust and user-friendly, gripper on their ROV.

Thread ropes through heavy objects for surface retrieval
Place scientific sensors and instruments on the seabed
